A Trivial Comedy for Serious People is a play by Oscar Wilde. First performed on 14 February 1895 at the St James`s Theatre in London, it is a farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious person? to escape burdensome social obligations. Working within the social conventions of late Victorian London, the plays major themes are the triviality with which it treats institutions as serious as marriage, and the resulting satire of Victorian ways.

After an exceptional response from his support slot at Ed Sheeran, Passenger is coming back for more and will perform solo for his South African fans!

Passenger`s new album, Runaway, is his tenth recorded album in 11 years, this time embracing the epic sound once again with unforgettable melodies and colossal choruses.

Passenger has come a long way since the release of his first album, Wicked Man`s Rest, back in 2007. The initial incarnation, in which Rosenberg was backed by a full band was followed by his reinvention as a solo artist, a year touring the world in support of Ed Sheeran and then his hit song, Let Her Go – followed, winning Rosenberg an Ivor Novello, and currently approaching two billion plays on YouTube.



Claude Bolling Suite Jazz with an African Twist

Claude Bolling`s Suite is a Jazz inspired work for classical flute and Jazz, hailed as a perfect representation of both genres which pioneered `crossover` music in the mid-seventies.
While retaining the integrity of the original work, Zafroics intends to push the boundaries of Suite, by emphasising the musical potential of Jazz and includes subtle African textures utilising percussion while experimenting with tonal colour.

Zafroics is made up of a team of well known musicians who are acclaimed locally and internationally. They are Rashid Lanie (piano), Lex Futshane (bass), Stacey van Schalkwyk Naidoo (flute), and Godfey Mcina (drums and percussion). Collectively, their expertise spans an eclectic blend of musical styles that include intercultural approaches to music making.

They are the titans of South African stand-up comedy and they will be raising the roof when The Big 5 Comedy Show proudly returns to Cape Town in November for 1 night only.

It`s an opportunity to spot the likes of John Vlismas and Schalk Bezuidenhout face off with Stuart Taylor or hear Tats Nkonzo and Jason Goliath roar in a wildly hilarious show which take place at the Grand Arena on the 2nd of November. In addition, The Big 5 Comedy Show won`t be complete without the legendary DJ Ready D who creates an electric atmosphere with his scratching and mixing skills. Collectively these comics have some of the most impressive resumes in South Africa. From appearing on local and international TV shows and starring in movies, to performing comedy shows that pack out festivals and theatres across the globe, this is an ensemble quite unlike any other. The Big 5 Comedy Show was a sensation last year and this year it will be another not-to-be-missed comic affair.
